Providing the right environment for learning is vitally important. At Lanchester EP Primary School the music room has a fully glazed, external wall with large floor-to-ceiling windows. Although it's nice to have incoming daylight and views of the open sky, on sunny days (yes, we do sometimes have them) uncontrolled glare on this scale can be an unbearable consequence. Coupled with solar heat gain in the summer, and rapid heat loss in the winter, this otherwise impressive learning space can be compromised.
To help combat these issues we installed high-level sloping vertical blinds and roller blinds, in a plain colour, thermally efficient, blackout fabric. The blinds are robust, manually operated, versatile, and easy to use as well as child-safe.
We hope installing these blinds will help to provide a comfortable learning environment for staff and pupils to enjoy.
